  • 5/13 The hills are alive!  Back to work with The Pickering Street
    Players a children's theater group run by East of Doheny.  This
    is my 9th production playing drums and percussion for PSP & the
    Super Cool Musical Director Paul Cady.  Bassist Evan Calbi and
    pianist Kayla Chon round out our ensemble.  Our current
    production of The Sound of Music includes four shows May 24
    & 25 at the Pico Playhouse (for tickets click here).

  • 2/17/08  The launch of Michael Dubin's new website!!!  Michael's
    collaborations with Director Jaret Sacrey has produced a short film,
    a national commercial for Ashley Furniture, and a new video.  Tonight
    Only the independent film by Jaret, Musical Direction by Michael
    Dubin, is completed and has been submitted to 16 festivals around the
    world.  The improvised score features The Dubin Collective with West
    Coast Legend DJ Bonebrake of X on vibes!  The film stars Broadway
    acclaimed actress Gillian Brashear as "Sally"(Chekov & Maria), the
    Poet James Berkowitz as "The Dancer", and Michael as "Water" the
    piano player.  The video for Michael's new song Do You Get Me is
    near completion.  Recorded and mixed by Engineer James Bennett,
    and shot by Jaret showcases the recording process, and features
    Michael as a "one man band," playing all the instruments.  This is an
    unprecedented performance, stay tuned!!!  Michael is also featured in
    an upcoming Ashley Furniture commercial along with producing the
    music for this amazing spot, which was shot on the back lot at
    Paramount Studios by Mr. Sacrey.  The spot features Michael on
    guitar/bass and Los Angeles session ace Katisse Buckingham on
    sax.
