The Dubes All-Stars evolved out of weekly jam session at DUBES!!! You
are asking what is DUBES? Well, DUBES is my private studio/speakeasy!
The room is decked out like a Parisian/Chicago Blues Lounge complete
with tables, lights, stage, and murals that adorn the walls. I have hosted
over 50 international professional musicians from all over the world as far
away as Australia, Israel, Japan, and Canada.
The current line up consists of myself on drums, Evan Calbi bass (KUFU),
Shea Welsh guitar (USC Jazz Guitar Professor), Michael Fortunato trumpet
(El Sabor Latino), DJ Bonebrake vibes & percussion (X, Bonebrake
Syncopaters), and Michelle Coltrane vocal & percussion!!! We perform a
variety of standards from, The Classic American Songbook as well as
original music composed by myself, DJ, Michael, and Shea. This is a great
group for events and private parties we cover a lot of ground playing Latin,
Afro-Cuban, bossa nova, jazz, swing, bebop, blues, reggae, rock, and funk!
